Message from Our President

The vast body of work of the NAACP stems from the horrific experiences of our people. The St. Paul NAACP is proud of our history and proud of our body of work. Our work is completely dependent on volunteers. And, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many volunteers who do the very controversial, gut-wrenching, unglamorous, but, necessary work on behalf of people and conditions in our community. To you volunteers, who are indispensable to the NAACP I dedicate this poem to you.

Volunteers

These are the ones who give so much
Contribute strength with a tender touch.
Their involvement and commitment we revere
Lest we forget the honor in serving to remove all fear.

They come in all colors, shapes and ages
And give of their time without any wages.
Each has a talent they are willing to share
With families who know how much you care.

They come in all weather, rain or shine,
To work from home or office regardless of any deadline.
From gathering information to opening their business doors,
They find great joy in a variety of chores.
We are humbly blessed, there is no doubt,
For your Volunteerism we cannot do with out.
To each one we'd like to say
Thanks for putting sunshine in our day.
